From Excalibur, it's a ridiculously short walk to the arena and this will come in handy if you're looking to not spend money on taxis or Uber. I actually stayed there because I was in town to see a concert at the T-Mobile arena. There's a buffet restaurant, a couple other table service restaurants, and a food court if you just want something quick and cheap with a wide variety to choose from. The location is excellent: you have Luxor on one side, New York New York on the other, and you're directly across the street from MGM Grand and Tropicana. I found my room (and the hotel in general) to be very clean. If you're that type of traveler, then maybe it's not the best choice for you but I find it more than adequate. I think those who are quick to talk trash about it are simply hotel snobs who want 5-star treatment everywhere they go. I mostly just need a bed to sleep on and a place to shower. As others have said, it's not a fancy place by any stretch of the imagination but I'm also not one to spend very much time in my hotel room when I'm in Vegas. I just stayed at Excalibur in January and I would, no doubt, stay there again.
